Have you had an idea that you put on hold and said you would do it later when you had time? Well now, due this pandemic, most of us have a bit more time than before and are able to slow down and execute our ideas. I am sure a lot of you are dealing with a bit more stress: kids being home-schooled, the fear of uncertainty about the world… you name it. And most difficult of all, we’re trying to manage our stress all while trying to get our immunity up and getting enough sleep to keep ourselves physically healthy. However, I’ve found that happiness is always the best food to our soul. What brings me the most happiness is fueling my passions and bringing them to life.
As a serial entrepreneur, I’ve created products, websites, brands, and a variety of content to share with others. I found that my ideas always came to life when I was struggling the most. The drive that comes from a place when you want something to happen badly enough that you take the risk and you don’t take no for an answer.
During this pandemic, I started this blog back up again, and I couldn’t be happier. Before the stay-at-home order was issued on March 17th, 2020, my days were made up of filming and shooting content, and my evenings were filled with fun beauty and fashion events, glamorous parties and nights out. I never had a moment to slow down and think about what actually made me happy. As the nights began to consist of staying in and cooking every meal, I realized that I wanted to share that with my audience, through a medium that I haven’t been using anymore.
As YouTube and Instagram became a bigger platform, my website became an e-commerce store, and the blog was neglected. Everything I was putting out was through video and photos, and writing was something I was missing from my life. And then it clicked: I wanted to write again, and I wanted others to read again. With so much uncertainty around the world, the most peaceful way to express myself was through writing and the most calming way to consume consistent was through reading. I started putting up my recipes I’d made YouTube videos for on my blog and writing about topics that I was interested in and included pieces of my life. I am so happy with how the blog has turned out! Through the pains of the pandemic, I was able to trust the process of building back up and create something through my love and passion. I hope that this encourages you to start your idea/business today. I spoke more about this on Diana Madison’s Podcast Dream Big! You can watch the video version here. Love you and Good luck!
